Terms of Service

This document has not yet been through legal review and does not bind anyone.

Some details are still to be filled in and appear in square brackets.

This document is published in English. If you are reading the site in another language, the English text is the one that applies.

1. What this service is

[entity] operates UnifyTrade, a read-only trading journal. It reads the trading history you connect or import, and presents it back to you as positions, performance, portfolio and journal analytics.

UnifyTrade never places, modifies or cancels an order. It never moves funds. It has no execution venue, holds no client money and takes no custody of any asset. It is not a broker, not an exchange, not a custodian and not a portfolio manager.

2. Not financial advice

Nothing UnifyTrade shows you is investment, financial, tax or legal advice, and nothing in it is a recommendation to buy, sell or hold anything.

Every figure it displays describes trades that have already happened. It does not forecast, does not rank instruments and does not tell you what to do next. [entity] is not a licensed financial adviser and does not provide a regulated service. Decisions you make with your money are yours.

3. Your account

You need an account to use the service. You are responsible for the accuracy of the details you give, for keeping your password and any two-factor device secure, and for everything done through your account.

You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live, and you must not use the service where doing so would break the law that applies to you.

4. Connections you add

When you connect an exchange or a broker, you supply an API key. You are responsible for creating that key with read-only permissions. UnifyTrade checks a key for write or withdrawal permissions and refuses it where the venue makes that possible, but the permissions on a key are set by you at your venue and remain yours to control. Revoke a key there at any time.

When you add a wallet, you supply a public address only. Never give UnifyTrade a seed phrase, recovery phrase or private key. No part of this service will ever ask you for one, and anything that does is not us.

5. Accuracy

UnifyTrade reconstructs positions and results from the data a venue returns and from the files you import. That data can be incomplete, delayed, revised or wrong at the source, and an import can contain mistakes. Figures are provided for your own record-keeping.

Nothing here is an accounting record, a statement of account or a tax document, and cost basis is computed as a chronological weighted average — the way a trader reads a position, not a lot-matching method any tax authority requires. Check anything you intend to rely on against your venue's own records.

6. Acceptable use

Do not use the service to break the law, to infringe anyone's rights, or to gain access to data that is not yours. Do not attempt to disrupt it, probe it for vulnerabilities without permission, or use it to send anything unlawful or abusive. Do not resell or redistribute access without our agreement.

If you grant another person read-only access to your data, you are responsible for who you grant it to, and you may withdraw it at any time.

7. Plans and payment

Paid plans, their prices and what they include are shown on the pricing page and apply from the moment you subscribe. Payments are processed by Stripe; [entity] does not receive or store your card details.

You may cancel at any time and your plan runs to the end of the period you have paid for. Where the law gives you a right to withdraw or a refund, that right applies and nothing here limits it.

8. Availability

The service is provided as it is and as it is available. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any particular venue connection will keep working — a venue can change or withdraw its API at any time.

Some features are released in stages and may be changed or withdrawn. Where a feature is still being tested, it is marked as such in the product.

9. Liability

To the extent the law allows, [entity] is not liable for trading losses, lost profits, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the service, and its total liability is limited to what you have paid in the twelve months before the claim.

Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not permit us to exclude. If you deal as a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.

10. Ending it

You may close your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, that is being used unlawfully, or where we are required to.

When an account is closed, what happens to its data is described in the Privacy Policy.

11. Changes

We may change these terms. Where a change materially affects you we will give notice before it takes effect, and the date at the top of this page always says when it last changed. Continuing to use the service after that date means you accept the current version.

12. Law and contact

These terms are governed by the law of [jurisdiction], and its courts have jurisdiction, without affecting any protection you have as a consumer in the country you live in.

Questions about these terms: [contactEmail] [entity], [address].
